WHY HEADSCARVES AND HOOPS ARE MY NEW FAV COMBINATION
Lately I have been really feeling Cardi B’s ‘I Like It Like That’ music video vibes. The vivid, colourful headscarf along with the gigantic hoops!
Wearing my black and white headscarf with my silver hoop earrings, I felt complete and DAMN did I look good!
I know that I haven’t started a trend or whatever because, headscarves have been around a long time. I remember watching a Youtube Video titled: ‘5 Ways to change your headscarf game,’ I started laughing really loudly in my bedroom because I was wondering to myself ‘how can you make a headscarf look good?’
I think I watched the first 5 seconds of the video before turning it off, because if anyone knows me I have very strong opinions and I don’t like to try anything new… I am very comfortable with my style and any type of old trends, I don’t really care to conform to the latest clothes, shoes etc out there (unless of course it is make-up), that is a different story.
Anyways, a couple of days ago I was looking in the mirror, staring at my hair, thinking to myself ‘WOW I need a new hairdo ASAP, my hair game right now is really weak’ and the worst thing was I was just about to go out, I couldn’t possibly walk out in public with my hair looking scanty and rough. Then I remembered I had a black and white scarf I got from my mum and before you knew it I started experimenting with it, trying all sorts, trying to twist it, plait it and tie it.
Finally, I came up with a look, here is a picture of it below
I received a lot of compliments for this look after posting it on my Instagram and Snapchat, that I decided this was going to be my new, easy look that I could literally wear everyday.
To complete the look, I decided to wear my big, silver hoop earrings (I LOVE LOVE THEM), all my friends know I love a bit of drama and these earrings give me that exactly! The combination of my headscarf and earrings looks amazing together, I don’t know why exactly but it just WORKS! It’s like the hoops gives the entire look a little something extra? And with this look you really don’t need to wear heavy make-up because, the headscarf and the hoops does enough on its own.
The best thing about this look is that it can be paired with any outfit, whether you are more of a casual or formal person. For me, I love to dress up and I would wear this look with a dress, a skirt and a blouse or if I was trying to achieve a more casual look like for example: jeans and just a simple t-shirt again I would pair it with this look.
Here is a pic of me wearing my black & white headscarf and hoops with an all-black casual outfit:
